Winter in Texas

The morning rays of the sun opened its curtains to disappear behind cloudy skies. A light chill kissed the air as I opened the door, and entered a picture perfect world painted by the fingers of God.

Driving in Texas during a freeze is an adventure I never miss. So my SUV and I became a team and cruised down the long stretched roads of Plano. I felt the steam from my hot cup of coffee touching my cold skin in the kitchen. As I opened the blinds I once again looked at a cool, calm world with cars zipping through the toll way.

And then it happened... snowflakes like tiny starts that were floating with my reach, were flirting by my window. How I loved it! As I left for home, they flirted with my teasing me to catch them, only to disappear into my glove covered hands as I reached out.

But then I saw a friend of my driving by
We stopped at a light side by side
We rolled down our windows for a quick hello
And snowflakes like a sweet princess
Flew into my car
She gently sat on the sleeve of my coat.
Like diamond dust
She sparkled and shined
Brought a smile on my face
I realized once again
What a wonderful feeling it is to be alive
To enjoy glimpses of heaven
While on earth.
